Lafayette General Medical Center is a full-service hospital for our patients suffering from orthopedic problems that affect the neck, back, hip, knee, shoulder and ankles, including total joint replacements.  From critical care expertise for emergency needs to outstanding inpatient care, LGMC is well known as the leader is orthopedic care. For the past four years, Lafayette General has been recognized for providing outstanding orthopedic surgery care by HealthGrades™, an independent quality ratings company.  In addition to a skilled clinical team, our continuum of services provides a smooth transition from pre-surgery preparation to inpatient recovery.  We offer full service inpatient orthopedic rehabilitation services, including physical and occupational therapy. For patients undergoing total joint replacement surgery, LGMC offers a Total Joint Prep Program. This unique program is designed to best prepare patients for total joint replacement surgery.  The first component of the PREP program consists of obtaining the patient's medical history, pre-registration to the hospital, and completing any diagnostic work your physician has ordered prior to surgery such as lab work and x-rays.  This can be done any time, within 30 days before your surgery, at the Lafayette General Surgical Hospital, open Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
