Neurology/Neurosurgery

Our neurological staff is expertly trained to care for patients who have neurological disorders or require neurosurgery, including brain or spinal cord injuries. The hospital is fully equipped to care for victims of a cerebral vascular accident, more commonly known as a stroke. We also offer seizure and headache management.

LGMC is very excited to offer CyberKnife robotic radiosurgery, the newest technology to treat brain tumors, as well as other tumors in the body, without an incision, pain, or anesthesia.

One of the greatest benefits of care at Lafayette General is our continuum of services that provide a smooth transition from pre-surgery preparation to inpatient recovery. LGMC has a dedicated rehabilitation floor that is staffed with nurses and therapists whose sole purpose is to get patients as independent as possible so that they can return to their homes. This includes physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
